Welcome to the Southern Maryland Youth Flag Football
League! The SMYFFL is southern maryland's premier "NFL"
Youth Flag Football League. We are based in White Plains
Maryland located in Charles County. The SMYFFL is a Youth
Flag Football League sponsored by the NFL (National Football
League) and is affiliated with the AAU (Amateur Athletic
Union). It is designed to educate young people about football
while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship. Players
will learn skills and lessons that help them succeed both on
and off the field. It is open to All Boys and Girls ages 5-17 of all
skill levels. This five-on-five game is recognizable to football
fans everywhere. Participants will learn about formations, pass
patterns and different types of defense all in a non-contact
environment. Signups will begin online late May 2008 with the
season commencing Early September and will run through
Early November. Registration Cost will include everything
needed (Except Mouthpieces) including a NFL team-identified
reversible football jersey and NFL FLAG Belt.
This upcoming Fall season will mark our 6th successful
season. Each season has provided an extremely positive
experience for many participants, coaches, and parents within
the league. We strive to maintain that FUN is the primary focus
of the SMYFFL, with winning and the competitive nature of the
game of football coming secondary. Our organization operates
both Spring and Fall seasons which provides year round flag
football in a safe and fun atmosphere. The SMYFFL is
dedicated solely to the sport of "NFL" flag football. This league
serves as an option to those kids and parents who love the
game of football, without the hassles and worries sometimes
encountered with Tackle Football. Hope to See you all this
